When Fairfax asked for an answer, the Victorian Department of Education said it was working to ensure all students who attend the school in question are in the same grade.
“The department has received no complaint from a Victorian parent or guardian of a child who has attended an academy in the past five years,” a department spokeswoman said.
“We will be investigating the matter.”
Fairfax contacted the Victoria Academy of Arts, which operates schools in the south-west, and the Victorian State Government for a response.
However, the Victoria State Government did not respond.
In a statement, the department said it “regularly and regularly reviews academy qualifications and compliance”.
“The Department of State Education is aware of the complaint and is working closely with the Victorian Government to investigate.”
